BioActive Biologics Appoints Dr. David Nelson Gimbel to Lead Industrial Solutions Division and Advance the New Waste-to-Value Platform

Dover, Delaware — BioActive Biologics today announced the appointment of Dr. David Nelson Gimbel as Head of its Industrial Solutions Division, where he will lead the deployment of the Company’s waste-to-value and regenerative infrastructure initiatives.

In his new role, Dr. Gimbel will be responsible for translating the Company’s microalgae-based biological technologies into real-world industrial applications. This includes advancing TerraValor™, BioActive’ s waste-to-value platform designed to convert organic industrial and agricultural waste streams into regenerative, value-creating assets.

Dr. Gimbel is a strategist working at the intersection of energy systems, climate finance, biodiversity, and regenerative agriculture. His career includes serving as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a strategist for energy, climate, and sustainability at a global macro hedge fund. He has advised large-scale energy, infrastructure, regenerative agriculture and sustainable development projects in Africa and the Middle East.  His current work focuses on combining environmental performance with durable economic outcomes including the development of emerging carbon markets.

“David brings a rare combination of systems thinking, capital markets experience, and real-world deployment expertise,” said Brian Harris, Cofounder of BioActive Biologics. “As BioActive expands from biological innovation into industrial-scale deployment, his leadership will be critical in ensuring that our technologies become platforms that operators can use and investors can support.”

BioActive’ s Industrial Solutions Division focuses on working within existing industrial and agricultural operations, integrating biological systems into legacy infrastructures rather than replacing them. Through its TerraValor™ platform, the Company is targeting sectors where large volumes of organic waste are currently treated as cost centers, including agricultural processing, food and beverage manufacturing, and other waste-intensive industries.

“We chose the name TerraValor very deliberately,” said Dr. Gimbel. “Terra represents land, soil, and natural systems, while Valor reflects real economic value. The platform is about recognizing that biological systems already hold enormous value, but that value is often wasted or ignored. TerraValor is designed to make that value visible, measurable, and scalable — turning waste into assets and aligning environmental health with durable economic performance.”

“Globally, more than one trillion dollars a year is spent managing organic waste,” Dr. Gimbel added. “TerraValor™ is about converting a meaningful portion of that unavoidable cost into productive value — improving soil health, reducing environmental risk, and creating scalable, repeatable economics. From an investment perspective, this is about building real infrastructure that performs, rather than isolated projects that don’t scale, and about reimagining incumbent and legacy industries so that they have meaningful futures”.

Dr. Gimbel will work closely with the Company’s scientific, operational, and commercial partners to advance pilot deployments, strategic partnerships, and capital-ready models for scaling in North America and internationally.
